Celebrate the 4th of July the Unorthodox Way!

Fireworks and American flags will once again be on full display as the entire nation celebrates freedom and independence this 4th of July. Friends and families will gather for cookouts, some will be watching local parades, while others will flock to stadiums to cheer their favorite baseball teams. For many of us, Independence Day is all about displaying our love for our motherland by donning the colors red, white, and blue.

What about you? Don’t have any Independence Day plans yet? Thinking of celebrating it differently this year minus the fireworks show or BBQ parties? You’ve come to the right place!

Veteran Car Donations has rounded up five non-traditional July 4th activities to give you that inspiration you’re looking for. Take a look at them below!

  1. Watch patriotic films outdoors with your family or friends.

Who doesn’t love an outdoor cinema? Setting up one in your garden or backyard isn’t difficult at all. You just need a screen, projector, cozy seats, and of course, a bowl of popcorn and cool refreshments. You could even throw in a couple of patriotic decorations. Watch patriotic movies with your family. You can also invite your friends to come over.

  1. Give your home a quick makeover.

Speaking of patriotic decorations, how about covering your house in flags, bunting, and banners? Show your guests how proud you are to be a pure-blooded American!

  1. Volunteer.

Commemorate Independence Day by helping your fellow Americans who are impoverished, homeless, jobless, and gravely ill. Lend your time and energy to charities that support these people.

  1. Make a list of things that make you proud to be an American.

Sit down, grab a pen and paper, and reflect. Think about everything you love about our nation, and why you’re proud to be living in it. Have your family members do the same. Once everyone’s done, let each member recite what they’ve written. Feel free to record a video of this and share it on social media. Your patriotism will surely inspire others.

  1. Listen to different versions of our national anthem.

Mariah Carey, Faith Hill, Jennifer Hudson, and the late great Whitney Houston are just some of the biggest names to have sung their renditions of The Star-Spangled Banner. If rock’s more of your style, you have the versions of Jimi Hendrix, Kiss, and Guns N’ Roses’ Slash to give your ears a treat.

Thank Our Nation’s Heroes on Independence Day By Doing This Act of Charity

The 4th of July presents you with an opportunity to give back to the courageous men and women who devoted the best years of their lives to keeping our country safe and defending our freedoms. After hanging their military boots, they’re left to face another battle — transitioning to civilian life and facing all the challenges that come with it.

With no prior civilian job experience, many of them are unable to find decent-paying jobs. For others, it’s their disabilities or mental health disorders that hinder them from getting employed. Without any source of income to sustain their basic needs, they find themselves having no choice but to beg for money on the streets.

If you have a soft spot for our suffering veterans, you can do something simple to uplift their lives. All you have to do is donate an unwanted vehicle to us at Veteran Car Donations.

Our team will put your car up for auction, with the proceeds going to the reputable military and veteran nonprofit organizations that are in partnership with us. These IRS-certified 501(c)(3) nonprofits are committed to helping disadvantaged and neglected former U.S. service members. They use the funding we give them to provide deserving veterans with free quality health care, financial aid, housing assistance, employment and livelihood opportunities, family support, educational scholarships, psychotherapy services, and many other benefits.

To repay you for your generous contribution, we’ll promptly mail to you the 100% tax-deductible sales receipt of your car. This will entitle you to claim the maximum tax deduction in the next tax season. The amount you’ll receive will be based on your vehicle’s selling price or value.

Additionally, you will have the privilege of having your vehicle picked up for free. Just let us know when and where you want it hauled off, and we’ll coordinate with a licensed towing company to get the job done. As long as you live within the United States, you can avail yourself of our vehicle removal service anytime you prefer.

Above all, you’ll have the ultimate pleasure and satisfaction of doing something extraordinary that can help uplift the lives of our nation’s heroes.

We accept almost all types of vehicles regardless of their age or condition. Head over to this page for a comprehensive list of the vehicles that qualify for our donation program.
