To give you an idea of what you can expect when you donate a vehicle to our New York, NY car donations program, check out this guide to our three-step donation process:
- Get in touch with us.
First, you’ll need to let us know of your intent to donate by giving us a call at 877-594-5822 or by filling out our online donation form. We’ll have one of our staff call you back as soon as possible to confirm your information and to set up a schedule for your vehicle’s pickup.
- Schedule your pickup.
You’ll have the privilege of picking the schedule that best suits you. On the designated day of pickup, we’ll send a tow truck over to your vehicle’s location to haul it away for free. We’ll hand you a towing receipt on the same day. You can use this to cancel the insurance coverage of your car and have it de-registered from your local DMV.
- Receive your tax-deductible receipt.
After your car gets sold for the highest price possible, we’ll have your 100-percent tax-deductible sales receipt mailed to your given address. You will need this receipt to claim your tax deduction when you file your itemized federal income tax return in the next tax season.

At Veteran Car Donations, you can donate any type of vehicle regardless of its age or condition. We’re not rigid when it comes to the vehicle’s operating condition.
