Effective Ways to Relax Before Bedtime

Person Who Can't Sleep | Veteran Car DonationsSleep is a vital part of your life. It’s like breathing, eating, and drinking. When you’re asleep, your body works to support healthy brain functions and maintains your physical health. While you are resting, your brain develops new pathways to absorb and remember new information. It helps you with learning and also improves your physical and mental health.

Unfortunately, many of us suffer from sleep deficiency. A study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that more than one-third of American adults are not getting enough sleep regularly. Adults need at least seven hours of sleep every night while adolescents need eight to 10 hours of sleep. Unfortunately, the study found out that two-thirds of American teens are not getting enough sleep on school nights.

Why Do Some People Have Trouble Falling Asleep?

Some people can’t get a good night’s sleep for at least five reasons. As you go over this list, they might sound familiar to you.

  1. Erratic sleep schedule

If you’ve heard of the concept of your internal body clock, it’s easy to understand the importance of waking up and going to bed at regular times. As your body gets used to the schedule, you will find it easier to fall asleep at a regular time every night. A warm bath can also help you relax to achieve a good night’s rest.

  1. Exposure to blue light

Set a limit to your exposure to technological devices such as your smartphone or television. When you’re exposed to blue light in the evening, it can delay the onset of your sleep. Start the habit of dimming the lights an hour before your bedtime. Also, park your phone somewhere far from your bed.

  1. Too much caffeine

If you want to get a good night’s sleep, you should ease up on your caffeine intake. Caffeine is a stimulant that interferes with your body clock and reduces your sleep time. Set a cut-off time of 2 p.m. for caffeine so you’ll have plenty of time to burn through its six-hour effect on your body.

  1. Stress

Your worries from work or personal life might be causing you to overthink and stress over things that you cannot resolve overnight. This might cost you precious hours of sleep as you toss, turn, and stare at the ceiling at night. Try to relax and keep these thoughts at bay with relaxing activities like aromatherapy, journaling, or doing a coloring book for adults.

  1. Exercising too late

Working out too close to bedtime can overstimulate your body, resulting in an excess of energy that will prevent you from getting a good rest. Try to squeeze in your workout earlier in the day.

How Can You Sleep Soundly with All These Woes?

Getting a good night’s sleep is essential in maintaining physical and mental wellness, but how can this be achieved by people who are suffering from homelessness, mental health conditions, disabilities, and chronic unemployment? Sadly, many of our veterans are facing all of these problems, making their lives miserable.

The good news is that you have the power to turn their lives around. All you have to do is contact us at Veteran Car Donations and donate to us any vehicle that you no longer want or need. We will use your donation to improve the living conditions of the impoverished veterans in your community.

We will have your donated vehicle auctioned off, with the proceeds going to our veteran-focused nonprofit partners. The money will help these nonprofits in providing services to more deserving veterans. These services include providing them and their families with free access to quality health care, counseling and psychotherapy services, job opportunities, housing assistance, financial aid, scholarships, and family support.

As our way of showing gratitude for your gift, we’ll mail you your 100% tax-deductible sales receipt. This will entitle you to receive the maximum tax deduction based on your vehicle’s selling price or value.

We’ll also be hauling your vehicle away without charging you a single dollar.

However, the best reward you’ll get is the priceless feeling of satisfaction, knowing that your act of charity will help uplift the lives of our neglected and suffering heroes.

We take almost all types of vehicles, including those that are barely running. As long as the car you’re donating is not stolen or abandoned, we wouldn’t have a problem accepting it.

There’s also no problem as far as your location is concerned. We can collect your donation wherever you are located in the country since our vehicle donation program covers the entire United States.
