Remember the Fallen Victims and Heroes of 9/11 on September 11th

A most tragic event shook America to its foundation on September 11th, 2001. It was on that day when nearly 3,000 people were killed following the hijacking of four airliners by members of the al-Qaeda terrorist organization. The terrorists deliberately crashed two of the planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, one at the Pentagon, while another one crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania after passengers of the plane fought off the hijackers aboard.

On December 19th, 2001, three months after the attack, President George W. Bush designated September 11th as Patriot Day.

On this day, all Americans are asked to remember the victims of the attack as well as pay tribute to the heroes who died while attempting to rescue those who were trapped in the blazing Twin Towers. Flags are flown at half-staff starting from sunrise to sundown, as a sign of national mourning and respect for our fallen fellow Americans.

Are you planning to take part in the observance of Patriot Day on September 11th? If you’re unsure how you can pay tribute to the fallen heroes of that tragic day, Veteran Car Donations has compiled these five simple ways of meaningfully observing this momentous occasion:

  1. Spread awareness of the event on social media.

Use the social media platforms you’re on to raise awareness about Patriot Day. This will keep the younger generation informed on why we observe this day while reminding the older generation to never forget 9/11.

  1. Attend a community event on 9/11.

Find an event near you commemorating 9/11 and show respect to the fallen by going there.

  1. Donate blood to the Red Cross.

From relief operations to blood drives, the Red Cross was one of the organizations that contributed greatly to helping the victims of 9/11. Help contribute to the Red Cross’ cause by volunteering as a blood donor.

  1. Join a stair climb event to honor our 9/11 heroes.

To pay tribute to the first responders who climbed 110 flights of stairs at the burning World Trade Center to help those crying for help, some organizations hold annual stair climbing events in various parts of the country. Find one such event in your area and join in the ceremonial climb.

  1. Lend a helping hand to our veterans.

Right after 9/11, our brave soldiers worked tirelessly at home and abroad to make sure that the masterminds responsible for the attack were brought to justice. They did their part in keeping our country safe and secure so that something like 9/11 would never happen again. Many of these soldiers have left the service and are faced with tough challenges in their transition to civilian life. Lend a helping hand to these battle-scarred veterans, particularly those residing in your community.

Pay Homage to our Heroes on Patriot Day with an Act of Charity

One sure-fire way of helping our suffering and disadvantaged veterans is by donating an unwanted vehicle for their benefit to Veteran Car Donations. When you do that, you’ll be showing your gratitude to our former service members for their valiant efforts to keep our country safe and strong and our freedoms intact.

We’ll use your donation to improve the lives of the struggling veterans in your local area. They are our former troops who are living miserable lives due to homelessness, chronic unemployment, service-connected disabilities, and illnesses, including mental health issues.

Once we get hold of your vehicle, we’ll have it auctioned off. We will then transfer the proceeds to our veteran-focused charity partners, allowing them to continue rendering services to more needy veterans.

Your donated vehicle will help our charity partners in providing them with free quality health care, financial aid, housing assistance, employment opportunities, family support, educational scholarships, psychotherapy services, and many other benefits.

As our token of gratitude, we’ll be sending you the 100% tax-deductible sales receipt of your vehicle days after its sale. This will entitle you to claim the maximum tax deduction in the next tax season. You will also benefit from our free pickup and towing services.

More valuable than these material rewards, you’ll get to experience the priceless joy and satisfaction of giving away something that will be used to help improve the lives of our nation’s heroes.

You can donate almost any type of vehicle whether in good condition or not. You can make such a donation anywhere in the country since we have vehicle donation programs in all 50 states plus the District of Columbia.

Show Your Gratitude to Our Heroes Today!

Our veterans willingly put their lives on the line to keep all of us safe and protected from people and groups that intended to do us harm, just like the al-Qaeda terrorists responsible for the 9/11 carnage. Patriot Day on September 11th is thus a fitting occasion to show them our gratitude and appreciation for their invaluable service to our nation. You can show them your gratitude with a donation.
