Take these Proactive Steps to Prevent a Blowout

Tires are the most abused parts of a vehicle. Yet, many vehicle owners take them for granted when it comes to maintenance. They are a vital part of an automobile since they support the vehicle’s load and absorb road shocks.

Tires are essential to road safety. Vehicles with worn-out tires can lose traction on the road and cause major accidents. Damages to tires such as cracks and bulges can cause catastrophic blowouts. They can also indicate bigger problems for your auto.

That’s why it’s important to make sure that your tires are in good condition at all times. Here are some simple ways to help prevent a flat tire.

  1. Check your tire pressure.

Make sure to maintain the proper tire pressure. Check your vehicle owner’s manual for the ideal psi (pounds per square inch). Use a tire pressure gauge to check the pressure and make adjustments. Overinflated tires cause premature wear and tear while underinflated tires cause them to lose shape and eventually become deflated. Both overinflation and underinflation can cause tires to overheat, which can lead to premature wear, tread separation, and blowouts.

  1. Rotate your tires.

Rotating your tires during regular car maintenance, ideally when a tire reaches the 5,000- and 10,000-mile marks, is a good way to avoid uneven wear patterns and prolong the life of your tires. You can also check the sidewalls and treads of your tires while doing this.

  1. Careful driving.

Avoid hazards on the road as much as you can. Avoid roads that have the possibility of damaging your tires such as uneven surfaces, potholes, sharp rocks, glass, metal shards. This can protect your tires from developing cracks or bulges.

  1. Maintain the proper load.

Avoid overloading your vehicle because this can cause undue pressure on your tires.

  1. Monitor tire recalls.

Keep a lookout for news and announcements about tire recalls. Be aware of your vehicle’s manufacturer as well as the brand and model of your tires so you can be aware of any issues with them.

Thinking of Retiring Your Old Car?

You can easily prevent a flat tire by being mindful of your tires’ condition. What’s a lot more difficult to prevent is your car losing its appeal and power primarily due to old age. If you have a vehicle that’s the equivalent of a senior citizen, perhaps it’s time to retire it. You can give your venerable auto a worthy purpose in retirement by donating it to us at Veteran Car Donations. We’ll use your donation to improve the lives of the struggling veterans in your community.

Our team will have your vehicle auctioned off, with the proceeds used to support the life improvement programs for veterans of our nonprofit partners. These IRS-certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations are dedicated to helping former service members who are homeless, disabled, unemployed, and suffering from illnesses, including mental health conditions.

They use the funding that we give them to provide their beneficiaries with free quality health care, financial aid, housing assistance, employment opportunities, mentoring, family support, educational scholarships, psychotherapy services, and many other benefits.

As our way of showing our gratitude for your gift, we’ll promptly mail to you the 100% tax-deductible sales receipt of your vehicle after its sale. This receipt will entitle you to claim the maximum tax deduction when you file your itemized federal income tax return in the next tax season.

We’ll also be hauling your vehicle away without charging you a single dollar.

However, the best reward you’ll get is the priceless feeling of satisfaction, knowing that your act of charity will help uplift the lives of our neglected and suffering heroes.

We take almost all types of vehicles, including those that are no longer running or with damaged parts. As long as the auto you’re donating is not stolen, abandoned, or a total wreck with very little or no value, we wouldn’t have a problem accepting it.

There’s also no problem as far as your location is concerned. We can collect your donation wherever you are in the country since our vehicle donation program covers the entire United States.

For more information regarding our donation program, you may visit our FAQs page. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach us anytime through our toll-free hotline at 877-594-5822. You may also leave us a message here.
