The Memorial Day
Memorial Day is a special day of remembrance and appreciation for all those servicemen and women who gave their lives in the line of duty to protect America. Yet it’s also important to remember those veterans who are still with us who need help.

Our military provides soldiers with everything they need in the field, but the comforts of home often are hard to come by. Putting together care packages for troops currently deployed overseas can provide them with a little bit of home wherever they are.
You can give them hope by reminding them that they are appreciated by someone in the U.S. Simple items like books, candy or even basic toiletries like toothpaste can help troops feel more comfortable where they are and help them relax.
Organizing Fundraising Efforts
Donating to national veterans’ organizations across the country is a great way to support our veterans; but you also can help veterans in your own community directly through fundraising efforts.
Working with a local organization, you can hold a clothing drive, a food drive, or host a charity barbecue or other event that will support veterans in the community directly. A potluck or dinner can also be a great way to show your local veterans your appreciation for their service.
