Outdoor RV Storage: Disadvantages

Storing your RV outdoors exposes it to humid and wet weather that promotes mold and mildew buildup. Likewise, hot and dry weather causes sun damage that can wreak havoc on your family motor coach. Long-term outdoor exposure also increases the risk of pest infestations as insects and rodents find their way in through your rig’s underbelly.

• Requires occasional washing and waxing

Outdoor storage will require you to give your RV a good washing and waxing every now and then to ensure its protection. Unfortunately, this maintenance task takes time and money.

• Covers possibly damaging your RV’s finish

Although covers for your motorhome or trailer offer a degree of protection against the elements, they can be a pain to put on. You’ll have to strap or tape them down because they can potentially cause damage to your rig’s paint or finish if the covers flap around.
