Why Our Marines Are Widely Respected

The Marine Corps is one of the most celebrated branches of the U.S. military. Marines have established a reputation for being reliable, resourceful, and loyal, which they have proven time and again on the battlefield.

Marines are widely respected for being the first on the ground when responding to crises overseas, including natural disasters.

November 10th is a special day for current and former Marines as it is the Marine Corps. Birthday. You can pay tribute to the brave men and women of the Corps by getting to know more about them and what they stand for. Veteran Car Donations shares some interesting facts to get you started.

  1. Nicknames

Because of their tenacity and grit in battle, the Marines earned the nickname “Teufelhunden” or “devil dogs” from their German foes during World War I. They are also known as the “tip of the spear” among other branches of the military for always being the first to be deployed in times of need.

  1. Motto

The Marines abide by their motto “Semper Fidelis,” which means always faithful. This attests to their loyalty and faithfulness to their duty to the country and their brothers in arms.

  1. Training

Before deployment, Marines must first complete a martial arts program, which they can put to good use during close-quarter combat. The program includes training in several disciplines such as jiu-jitsu, taekwondo, and krav maga.

  1. Tradition

One unique tradition of the Marines is the cutting of the cake at its annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball with a centuries-old sword. Part of the tradition is to give the first three slices to the guest of honor, followed by the oldest and youngest Marine.

  1. Advocacy

Marines are not only charged with protecting the peace. They are also dedicated to bringing happiness to children. One of the major programs spearheaded by the Marine Corps is Toys for Tots, which has been going on since 1947. This branch of the military has delivered more than 584 million toys to children in the United States since the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation was established.

How You Can Extend Aid to Veterans in Need

Aside from paying homage to our brave Marines, you can also meaningfully celebrate the Marine Corps Birthday by extending a helping hand to the former Marines and other veterans in your local community who are living miserable lives. You can do that by simply donating any vehicle you can spare to us at Veteran Car Donations.

We’ll have your vehicle auctioned off, with the proceeds delivered to reputable veteran nonprofit organizations that are in partnership with us. These IRS-certified 501(c)(3) nonprofits are dedicated to helping former U.S. service members who are homeless, impoverished, jobless, and suffering from service-connected disabilities and serious illnesses, including mental disorders.

Our charity partners use the funding we give them to provide needy veterans and their families with free quality health care, financial aid, housing assistance, employment opportunities, family support, educational scholarships, psychotherapy services, and many other benefits.

You’ll also benefit greatly from your donation. As a token of our gratitude, we’ll promptly mail to you the 100% tax-deductible sales receipt of your vehicle soon after its sale. This will entitle you to claim the maximum tax deduction in the next tax season.

You will also benefit from our free pickup and towing service. We will provide you with this service wherever you are in the United States since our donation program covers the entire country.

Perhaps more valuable than these material rewards, you’ll get to experience the priceless joy and satisfaction of giving away something that will be used to help uplift the lives of our nation’s hurting heroes.

We accept almost all types of vehicles, regardless of their ages or conditions. You don’t need to have your car fixed if it has dents or scratches. We’ll take it as it is!
