Let’s Greet Our Marine Corps a Happy 247th Birthday!

The 10th of November holds a special meaning for the men and women of the U.S. Marine Corps. On this date in 1775, our nation introduced the Marine Corps to the world. This year would be their 247th birthday.

For many former Marines, this is the perfect time to look back on their time in the service — those moments when their drill instructors would sternly bark instructions at them or those happy times when they’d gather with their comrades for a luau in Okinawa. Others would use the occasion to talk about their biggest accomplishments and try to inspire those who aspire to be in the Corps one day.

However, one doesn’t have to be a Marine to celebrate this special event. Civilians such as yourself can spend it by thanking our heroes. Veteran Car Donations shares the following ways of showing your gratitude and appreciation to our brave and dedicated Marines for their invaluable service to our country:

  1. Participate in a community event.

Look for an event in your area on November 10th that’s intended to honor local former Marines. Find out where they are by checking with your local Veterans of Foreign Wars chapter for the best leads. It’s that easy!

  1. Ask a Marine about their service.

If you know someone who has served in the Marine Corps, don’t hesitate to ask them about their time in the service. Trust us, they’d love to reminisce and share their fondest memories. Just make sure to avoid questions that involve killing people or any other sensitive topic.

  1. Offer your expertise.

Do you have construction skills? Help build a simple home for a homeless ex-Marine. Have you been in the accounting industry for several years now? Share your secrets with an active Marine or their spouse if they happen to be looking for a job that requires basic accounting.

  1. Volunteer at a veteran-focused organization.

You can find plenty of nonprofits that cater to the needs of our veterans. Among them are the Paralyzed Veterans of America, The American Legion, and Habitat for Humanity. These nonprofits are always on the lookout for volunteers to help with their outreach programs. Go ahead and tell them that you’re willing to lend them a hand.

Another Meaningful Way to Make the Most of Marine Corps Day

You can make a simple gesture that will benefit not just our former Marines but also those who have served in other branches of our military and are living miserable lives. You can help turn their lives around by simply donating an unwanted vehicle to us at Veteran Car Donations. We’ll convert it into a powerful tool for transforming the lives of those unsung heroes.

Our team will put your vehicle up for auction, with the proceeds going to our veteran-focused nonprofit partners. Like us, these IRS-certified 501(c)(3) nonprofits are dedicated to serving veterans who are homeless and unable to find decent jobs as well as those suffering from disabilities and serious illnesses, including mental health conditions.

Our nonprofit partners use the funding we give them to provide their beneficiaries with housing assistance, financial aid, employment and livelihood opportunities, family support, free quality health care and medical treatment, psychotherapy services, educational scholarships, and many other services meant to improve their living conditions.

Donating to us is quick and easy. We won’t hassle you with unnecessary steps or complicated paperwork. All you have to do is contact us.

You also won’t go home empty-handed after making your donation. You’ll receive valuable rewards such as the free and fast towing of your unwanted vehicle anywhere in the country.

Your charitable contribution will also entitle you to receive the maximum tax deduction in the next tax season.

More importantly, your act of charity will leave you feeling fully satisfied, knowing that you’re helping uplift the lives of the heroes residing in your area.

We accept not just cars but almost all other types of vehicles, including those that are no longer in good condition.
