It’s a Time to Pay Tribute to Our Protectors in the Sky

The United States Air Force (USAF) is the air service branch of the United States Armed Forces. Its primary responsibilities include air support, defense, and development of military space research.

Since our air force was created in 1907 and established as a separate branch of the U.S. Armed Forces in 1947, our airmen have used the skies to give our military forces the edge they need to succeed.

Not all airmen and airwomen become pilots, who comprise only a small fraction of our Air Force personnel. Other service members work on the ground conducting logistical, administrative, and other supporting roles.

In recognition of the contributions that the brave members of our Air Force have given our country, we celebrate U.S. Air Force Day on August 1st. It’s that day in 1907 when the military unit was created. The day serves to remind us of what our Air Force members have done and continue to do to keep our country safe. It’s an event when we can show our appreciation to both our retired and active-duty Air Force personnel for defending our country from those who seek to do us harm.

Here are five meaningful things you can do on August 1st to celebrate U.S. Air Force Day:

  1. Post on social media.

Not everyone knows that August 1st is U.S. Air Force Day. Use the social media platforms you’re on to help spread the word. Start by posting a relevant photo with a caption or a message thanking the members of our Air Force for their service.

  1. Attend an aviation event.

Check for any aviation events near your area. There might be aviation tours or shows nearby that you can visit. These activities usually have demonstrations, plane collections, and more for you to enjoy.

  1. Visit the Air Force Academy or an Air Force base.

If you live not far away from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, you can schedule a day tour together with your friends and family. Some areas in the academy are open to the public. If you have a family member who works in the Air Force, you can also ask to be invited to visit the base where they are stationed.

  1. Read up on the history of our Air Force.

Do you know how our Air Force started? Do you know the significant battles that our country won because of our selfless airmen? Spend August 1st reading about the rich history of our United States Air Force!

  1. Explore an Air Force museum

Air Force museums are great places where you can see our military’s aviation history coming to life. See planes and other aviation equipment used by our Air Force through the years.

Looking to Dispose Of an Unwanted Car? Use It to Help Our Suffering Vets!

While U.S. Air Force Day is dedicated to the members of our Air Force, it should also serve as an occasion for us to appreciate and show our gratitude to members of other U.S. military branches, both active-duty and former members, for their invaluable service to our nation.

You can meaningfully celebrate the event by extending a helping hand to the struggling veterans in your community. You can do that by simply donating any vehicle you no longer need to us here at Veteran Car Donations.

We’ll have your donation auctioned off, with the proceeds going to some of the leading veteran nonprofit organizations in our country that we are in partnership with. These IRS-approved 501(c)(3) nonprofits cater to veterans who are homeless, jobless, and suffering from service-connected disabilities and illnesses, including mental health disorders. These charities use the funding to provide underserved veterans and their families with free quality health care, financial aid, housing assistance, employment opportunities, family support, educational scholarships, psychotherapy services, and many other benefits.

You will also benefit from your charitable contribution since you’ll get to enjoy our free towing service wherever your vehicle is located in the country.

Furthermore, you’ll also find satisfaction in our quick and convenient donation process where you don’t have to do any paperwork. On top of that, you’ll have the privilege of receiving the maximum tax deduction in the next tax season.

However, those material perks may pale in comparison to the greatest reward you’ll get when you donate a vehicle to us: the priceless feeling of joy and satisfaction for doing something that can help transform the lives of the suffering heroes in your community.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call us through our toll-free hotline at 877-594-5822 or you may send us a message here. Check out our FAQs page for more information on our donation program.
