Although they no longer face armed enemies out to kill them, they have to contend with the lack of jobs suited to their military background, insufficient if not total lack of government benefits, housing woes, and other tough challenges.
Unable to find a source of income to support themselves and their families, these veterans have fallen into poverty. Some who couldn’t even pay their housing rent had been forced out of their homes and became homeless. We can see them on our streets and sidewalks, begging for alms from passersby.
These are the veterans that Veteran Car Donations and our nonprofit organization partners are trying to save from destitution. Ohio: The Buckeye State
The Buckeye State is known for its many “firsts.” Ohio is widely known for having the first ambulance service, specifically in Cincinnati, back in 1865. It was also the first state in America to have a traffic light in 1914. The first man to ever walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong, was a native of Wapakoneta. In 1899, the first-ever full-time automobile service station was established in the state.
Ohio is home to over 800,000 veterans. Official data showed that 8.6 percent of these veterans were unemployed and 7.3 percent lived in poverty.

How to Donate an RV in Ohio
Taking part in our Ohio RV donations program involves a simple and quick process.
- Step 1: Contact us.
Call Veteran Car Donations at 877-594-5822 or fill out our online donation form. Â Be ready to give all the factual information about you and the RV you wish to donate, including the year it was purchased and the time you last used it. The whole donation process will merely take approximately 10 minutes of your time.
- Step 2: Towing time
We will arrange for a licensed towing company to pick up your RV. The towing operation will not cost you anything. It will be best if you can be around on the day of pick up so we can give your donation receipt, a document that releases you from all liability on the RV you just donated from that point onward. You can now de-register your vehicle, dispose of its license plates properly, and cancel its insurance coverage.
- Step 3: Auction and selling
As soon as we have your donated RV, we will refurbish it, put it on the auction block, and sell it. Any amount that will be gathered from your donated vehicle will be used to fund the programs of our non-profit organization partners. Within 30 days after the sale of your RV, we will mail to you your 100-percent tax-deductible sales receipt, indicating your donated RV’s final selling price. This will serve as the basis of your tax deduction claim when you file your itemized federal tax return for the next tax season.
