Your Vehicle Donation Can Help Veterans Rebuild Their Lives

If your old car is ready to call it a day, give it one last mission that matters. Here in Wenonah – where tree-lined streets hold generations of stories and neighbors rally around one another – your vehicle can become a real help for those who’ve served.

Walk by the Vietnam Era Veterans Memorial in Wenonah Park or cheer along the Memorial Day Parade, and you’ll feel how deeply this borough honors service. Once home to Wenonah Military Academy, this quiet town helped shape young cadets into leaders.

Yet, many veterans still face hard days after discharge – unstable housing, limited access to care, and the tough road back to steady work.

Veteran Car Donations is here to bridge that gap. When you donate a vehicle you no longer need, you help fund programs that lift Wenonah’s vets – from job training and career support to housing assistance. One simple gift can echo loudly, delivering dignity, stability, and hope.

FAQ | Wenonah Car Donations

1. What’s the process for vehicle pickup in Wenonah?

We work with local towing professionals who know Wenonah’s streets well. Once you schedule your donation, we’ll arrange for free pickup – often within one to two days. You’ll receive a donation receipt at pickup or shortly after.

2. How long does it usually take to complete a vehicle donation?

From pickup to final paperwork, it typically takes one to six weeks. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

3. Can I donate a car that isn’t running, and what types of vehicles are accepted?

We accept most vehicles common in Wenonah, including sedans, SUVs, trucks, motorcycles, and RVs. Whether it’s a Honda CR-V, Ford F-150, or Toyota Corolla, we’ll likely take it. It doesn’t need to run – just have its title.

4. Where does the money from my donated car go?

The funds from your vehicle sale are used to support veteran services in your area:

  • Safe housing for those transitioning out of homelessness
  • Job training programs that open doors to new careers
  • PTSD counseling and mental health support through New Jersey-based nonprofits
  • Medical care coordination and VA clinic access
  • Emergency relief for groceries, bills, and transportation

Rather than being absorbed into a national system, your donation fuels real change for veterans in your neighborhood.

5. What is the tax deduction amount, and which forms are necessary?

The deduction is generally equal to the vehicle’s sale price, subject to certain exceptions. For vehicles sold for less than $500, the allowable deduction is the fair market value at the date of donation, not to exceed $500. If the sale price exceeds $500, the deductible amount is limited to the gross proceeds of the sale.

Deductions from $501 through $5,000 require completion of Section A of IRS Form 8283. Deductions exceeding $5,000 require completion of Section B of Form 8283 in addition to Section A. We will mail all necessary paperwork.

6. What should I do if I have issues with my vehicle title?

No worries. Our title team can help resolve most issues. If you need to visit the DMV, head to the nearest NJ Motor Vehicle Commission office at 215 Crown Point Road, Thorofare. But in many cases, we’ll handle everything for you.
