Add Charitable Giving to Your List of New Year’s Resolutions This 2018!
As another year begins, many of us may try to come up with New Year’s resolutions in an attempt to improve the quality of our lives and those of the people around us. If you’re like most people, your list may have the usual items such as hitting the gym more often, saving money, or even putting a bad habit to an end. However, if you’re thinking of doing something different this 2018, something that would make the world a better place, think of giving back to the people who ensured the safety of our country – our military veterans.
As soldiers return home from their deployment, easing back into the civilian life can be tough. PTSDs and severe injuries could hinder some veterans in finding and maintaining a job with a stable income. As a result, some may fall into depression, poverty, and homelessness.
It’s ironic to think that those who sacrificed all that they had for the sake of our nation are now suffering in silence as they live in the streets of the country they’ve fought for. This is an urgent call to those who have two things: hearts filled with compassion and backyards filled with clunkers they’d want to get rid of. If you have both, you can help us fix this problem.
How Your Car Donation Can Help Our Vets
While the government is working hard to help our ex-servicemen in their transition to civilian life, its limited resources make it difficult to make its
programs available to all 18 million vets in our country (based on the United States Census Bureau report as of 2017). Without the help of nonprofit organizations, the number of veterans at risk of being homeless would continue to rise.
Vehicles donated to Veteran Car Donations are sold at auctions and the proceeds are used to generate funding to help the nonprofit organizations we are in partnership with as they strive to provide struggling veterans with services that would help them rise above the challenges they face. Such services include:
- Securing a wide range of benefits that the veterans and their families can enjoy
- Providing veterans with mortgage-free and specially adapted homes
- Scholarship grants for veterans who weren’t able to earn a college degree.
- Offering grief counseling for families who lost a loved one in the line of duty
- Employment seminars that would help veterans find a stable and a suitable job
- Educating the public on the sacrifices made by soldiers and veterans to protect our country and inform them of what they need to ease their transition back to civilian life
A Different Item in Your List of New Year’s Resolutions
As you list down your New Year’s resolutions, you may think of cleaning up and letting go of some of the things you no longer need – including a vehicle you haven’t used for a long time. Veteran Car Donations makes it easy for you to get rid of an unwanted car and at the same time help veterans in need.
Unlike selling, donating is convenient and hassle-free. Whether it floats on water or runs on land, we’ll gladly accept it. Just give us a call at 877-594-5822 and we’ll be happy to walk you through your donation process. Instead of the usual items in your list of 2018 goals, add “charitable giving” to your New Year’s resolutions and donate your unwanted car today!
