Veteran Car Donations has been making a difference in the lives of veterans in Savannah, GA since 2015 by transforming unwanted vehicles into meaningful support. Many of our brave Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Air Force service members face challenges such as homelessness, joblessness and health issues. By donating your vehicle, you’re helping fill the gaps left by limited government assistance, funding crucial services like housing, food, healthcare and professional job training. We’ve made the process is quick, easy and stress-free: we accept most vehicles, running or not, and take care of all the details. Your gift directly benefits programs that uplift veterans and their families. Give back today and donate your car to help change a life.
It may surprise you, but donating your car to our Savannah, Georgia program is like throwing a lifeline to someone in desperate need. That person is a homeless veteran, struggling on the streets of Savannah, asking for help. You might wonder about his story and how you can help give it a happier ending.
A troubling reality is that a significant portion of America’s homeless population consists of inactive U.S. military servicemen and women. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) estimates that thousands of veterans are living without shelter, often in parking lots, parks, and on the streets. Many of these veterans face disabilities, with a large percentage also struggling with mental health issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or traumatic brain injuries (TBI).
We’re talking about a person who survived hails of bullets in the war zones of Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Iraq or South America – in your defense.
Although the government takes active roles in alleviating this problem, there is still a service gap that needs to be bridged.
From Heroes to Hardship
Sadly, however, many of them are being treated very differently from how we expect heroes to be treated. They are now languishing in poverty, unable to receive government benefits due them for one reason or another. With their lack of educational attainment and civilian work experience, they can’t find decent jobs that will enable them to feed themselves and their families. Worse, they suffer from service-related physical disabilities and mental problems like Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and depression.
Some have sunk so deep into poverty that they have become homeless, begging passersby for food and money. Some have taken to alcohol and substance abuse. Some have fallen afoul of the law and engaged in petty crimes just to have something to eat.
The government is doing its best to assist our veterans. But they are simply too many and the government resources are simply not enough.
That’s why we set up our Santa Ana, California car donations program. With your help, with your car donations, we can extend assistance to these impoverished veterans enough for them to regain their dignity, find jobs, and become productive members of the community.
How Your Car Donations Will Benefit Our Veterans
Our company manages car donation programs for the nonprofit organizations we partner with. They are Homes for Our Troops, Soldiers’ Angels, Serving Veterans, Inc., and Heroes on the Water. We transfer the proceeds from the sale of Santa Ana, California car donations to these non-profits whose primary mission is to look after the welfare of our country’s heroes. The funding enables them to sustain their programs that provide the following services to our Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard veterans:
- Mental and physical healthcare
- Transitioning assistance after their return home from overseas deployment
- Building mortgage-free, specially adapted homes for those who suffered severe service-related injuries and are now handicapped
- Job training programs to increase their chances of getting a job
- Grief counseling sessions to the spouses and families of those who have fallen in combat
- Educating every veteran of the government benefits that he’s qualified to enjoy
