Whether it’s a commuter car you’ve retired in Southeast Boise or an ATV gathering dust in the Highlands, turning it into veteran support is a friendly, community-minded move.

From Downtown strolls along the Greenbelt to weekend hikes in The Highlands, every part of the city has heart—and now your car can too.

How Car Donation Works in Boise

1. Reach out – Fill out our online form or give us a quick call at 877-594-5822 with your vehicle info and location—Downtown, Depot Bench, or the foothills – whatever suits you best.

2. Schedule free pickup – We work with local towing partners accustomed to Boise’s mix of narrow historic streets, winding hillsides, and suburban blocks.

3. Receive donation receipt – After pickup and sale, you’ll get official IRS paperwork for tax purposes.

4. Support our veterans – Funds stay local, supporting Idaho veterans through housing, mental health, and career programs.

Why Boiseans Donate Their Vehicles

  • Stand by Idaho veterans – Your donation directly supports programs around the city, from counseling near the Boise Veterans Memorial Park to career training in town.
  • Clear out unused vehicles – SUVs gathering cobwebs in Southeast Boise or trailers hidden off Depot Bench? We’ll get them – no questions asked.
  • Tax benefits included – We provide full documentation, including Forms 1098-C and 8283 when applicable.
  • Protect our natural spaces – Vehicles are recycled responsibly, ensuring the city remains clean and green.

Boise has always taken pride in community care – from the Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial near the Library to the veterans monuments along Veterans Memorial Parkway. Donating your vehicle keeps that spirit rolling.

Where We Operate in Boise – Neighborhoods We Proudly Serve

Boise is a patchwork of distinctive neighborhoods with its own character and community spirit. We serve every corner of town because veterans live everywhere here, and so do the generous people who want to support them. Here’s a look at some of the areas we cover and why we show up there:

  • Downtown & BoDo (Boise Downtown) – From the lively patios on 8th Street to the cultural landmarks near the Greenbelt, this urban hub is home to professionals, artists, and longtime residents who believe in giving back. Whether your vehicle’s tucked behind a historic building or parked near Grove Plaza, we’ll come to you – quickly and quietly.
  • North End & Hyde Park – This neighborhood’s charm runs deeper than its tree-lined streets and Craftsman homes. With a strong community vibe and proximity to trails and schools, it’s no surprise so many locals here choose to donate. We’re regulars on these roads, navigating the narrow lanes near Camel’s Back with ease.
  • The Highlands – Perched above downtown with views that stretch to the foothills, the Highlands is peaceful, scenic, and home to many families who’ve lived here for generations. We serve this area because it reflects the kind of quiet generosity that drives our mission.
  • Southeast Boise (Bown Crossing & Barber Valley) – From the family-friendly paths around Marianne Williams Park to the shops in Bown Crossing, Southeast Boise is a blend of nature and community spirit. We often pick up from here, especially as residents upgrade gear for river life or retire a second vehicle.
  • East End / Warm Springs Avenue – Lined with geothermal-heated homes and rich in history, this neighborhood draws civic-minded folks who care about preserving their community—and the people who’ve served it. We serve East End not just for its convenience, but because it’s home to so many quietly generous donors.
  • Depot Bench – With views of the historic train depot and a mix of mid-century charm and new development, this growing area is home to many working families. We frequently handle donations here from folks who are simplifying their lives or passing on a well-used vehicle to help a veteran in need.

Wherever you live in the city – from quiet cul-de-sacs to bustling streets – we’re ready to meet you there. Because veterans live in every neighborhood, and so do people ready to lend a hand.

Frequently Asked Questions About Donating a Car in Boise, ID

1. How does vehicle pickup work?

We’ll schedule free pickup within 24–48 hours. Our towing team knows Boise’s varied terrain – from the tight alleys of Beacon Street to the washes near Warm Springs. We’ll coordinate a time that suits you best, even if you’re strolling along the Greenbelt.

2. Can I donate a non-running vehicle or recreational gear?

Sure thing. We accept almost anything – cars, trucks, RVs, trailers, ATVs, and motorcycles – even if they won’t start. Those ATV trails near the foothills? We’ll take the ATV if it’s taking up space and can still be towed.

3. What tax deductions can I claim?

You’ll get a receipt at pickup and a final IRS form once the vehicle is sold. If it sells for under $500, you can deduct up to that amount. Over $500? You’ll deduct the full sale price. We also help with IRS Form 8283 if needed.

4. How does this support Boise veterans?

Your vehicle backs veterans living and working right here in Ada County – funding housing, mental health support, job training, and emergency aid. From the VA Medical Center, built on old Fort Boise grounds, to community programs around town, your donation stays local.

5. Who handles the DMV paperwork if I lose the title?

We assist you through in-house title support, possibly saving you a trip to the Ada County Registration & Title Office at 8655 W Franklin Rd, or the Boise Driver Services Center at 400 N Benjamin Ln. AAA members can also use Boise branches – just let us guide you along the way.
