It’s easy to miss just how many veterans call Babylon home – until you see the plaques at Phelps Lane Park, or attend a wreath-laying ceremony at Long Island National Cemetery. Many of those who served are now facing real struggles, from housing instability to gaps in healthcare. But there’s a way to help, and it’s sitting in your driveway.

By donating an idle vehicle to Veteran Car Donations, you can provide vital support to our neighbors who wore the uniform. From housing assistance and job training to quality medical care, your contribution helps provide real support to these brave-hearted folks as they work to rebuild their lives.

A Straightforward Process That Works for Everyone

You don’t need to jump through hoops to make a difference. Whether you’re tucked away near Copiague Harbor or right off Deer Park Avenue, our process is designed to be simple, fast, and respectful of your time.

1. Give Us the Basics

Start by filling out our short online form or calling 877‑594‑5822. Just tell us what you’re donating, where it’s parked, and when it’s convenient for pickup. That’s it.

2. Say Goodbye to Your Vehicle

Our local towing team handles everything, from tight driveways near the Village to side streets in West Babylon. There’s no charge for removal, and we usually get it done within two business days.

3. Enjoy Your Tax Reward

Once we auction off your vehicle, we’ll send you a tax receipt within a month. Hang onto it for tax season – it’s your ticket to a top deduction.

One donor, Cynthia, was amazed by our professional, no-fuss approach:

“Very quick and easy. Fast response to online submission and car was picked up the next day. Great communications and efficiency at each step.”

The Perks of Donating (Besides Just Feeling Good)

Your car donation goes a long way in improving the living conditions of neighbors who served. We sell it and use the proceeds to fund the programs of our nonprofit partners, including:

  • Emergency housing and rental support for veterans facing tough times
  • Job training and employment programs through trusted Long Island partners
  • Mental health and PTSD counseling through nearby VA clinics
  • Ongoing medical care and specialty treatment through local veteran hospitals
  • Short-term assistance with food, utility bills, and other urgent needs

As a donor, you’ll have your share of rewards as well:

  • Free towing, no matter where your car is parked
  • No listing, no selling, and no strangers showing up at your door
  • A tax-deductible receipt you can use at tax time
  • No paperwork headaches – we handle all the DMV forms
  • The satisfaction of knowing your gift helps improve lives

You give your car. We give you a tax break and peace of mind. Vets in your community get a path forward. Everyone wins.

Vehicle Pickup in Every Part of Your City

We know Babylon like the back of our hand, and we’re proud to serve every corner of it. From tucked-away bayside streets to bustling neighborhoods near the station, we meet donors where they are because veterans live in every part of this town.

  • Babylon Village / Downtown: Nestled around Main Street and the Babylon Theatre, this area blends old charm with modern living. Many donors here are simplifying – trading in that second car now that they’re commuting less or moving into smaller homes.
  • North Babylon: Just a few blocks from Phelps Lane Park, this neighborhood has long been home to veterans and their families. We often help residents here get rid of unused vehicles that haven’t left the driveway in months.
  • West Babylon: Whether you’re near Argyle Park or in one of the family-friendly cul-de-sacs off Route 109, folks in West Babylon are busy, which means they don’t have time to deal with listing or selling a car. That’s where we come in with fast, no-hassle pickup.
  • Copiague / Copiague Harbor: With its bayside homes and boat slips, we often receive calls from residents here about donating trailers, older vehicles, or even watercraft that haven’t been used in years.
  • Deer Park: Suburban and commuter-friendly, this community is home to veterans who ride the LIRR daily and others who want to give back. We regularly schedule towing around this area and nearby neighborhoods.
  • Lindenhurst: Right on the edge of town, Lindenhurst offers a blend of newer homes and longtime residents, many of whom have military ties. We’re always glad to serve this community.

Not sure if we cover your exact street? We most likely do. Call us at 877‑594‑5822 for the peace of mind you’re looking for.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long does the whole car donation process take from start to finish?

Most of the time, we can arrange a free vehicle removal within 24 to 48 hours of your reaching out. You’ll get a tow receipt right then and there for your records. Once your car sells (usually within a few weeks), we’ll send you a tax-deductible receipt in the mail. Don’t worry, we’ll keep you posted along the way.

2. Do you take anything other than cars?

Absolutely. We accept a wide range of vehicles. If it has a title, there’s a good chance we can take it off your hands, even if it’s no longer working. We often take:

  • Pickup trucks and SUVs from North Babylon and West Babylon
  • Motorcycles, scooters, and ATVs from garages in Deer Park or Copiague
  • RVs, trailers, and campers are stored near Belmont Lake or off Sunrise Highway
  • Boats and jet skis near the canals or South Shore homes

For a full list of our eligible vehicles, visit this page.

3. Do I have to be around when my car gets picked up?

Not at all. If you can leave the signed title and keys somewhere secure (like inside the glove box or under the floor mat), we’ll take care of the rest. Our towing crew will load the vehicle, take a quick photo as proof, and we’ll follow up once it’s picked up.

4. What’s my tax deduction going to look like?

It’s based on your car’s sale price. If we sell it for more than $500, that number is your deduction. If it sells for less, you can still claim its fair market value. You’ll get a tax receipt by mail shortly after the sale.

5. How do I get an update on the status of my donation?

Just reach out to us anytime. Whether you’re checking in on the pickup, title process, or tax receipt, we’ll gladly fill you in.

6. Do I need the title to donate my car?

Yes, it’s a requirement. But if yours is lost or has errors, we’ve got your back. Our title experts can fix most issues without visiting the DMV. If you need to go that route, the local office is the Suffolk County DMV at 250 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Hauppauge, NY 11788. Rest assured, we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
