Your vehicle still has value, even if it no longer fits your life. When you donate it through Veteran Car Donations, it is a practical way to clear your property while making a lasting difference for those who served. The proceeds help fund nonprofit programs and resources that help veterans and their families build stronger futures.

Giving your vehicle does not have to become another item on your to do list. Once you contact us, our team coordinates the pickup, towing, paperwork and sale on your behalf, so you can avoid the inconvenience of selling it yourself. Your donation helps veterans from every branch of the military, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. With one simple decision, you can give an unwanted vehicle a purpose that reaches far beyond the driveway.

What Happens When You Donate Your Vehicle?

Getting started is quick and straightforward. Simply call 877-594-5822 or complete the online donation form with a few basic details about your vehicle. We will ask for information such as the make, model, condition, mileage and title status to determine eligibility.

After confirming your information, we schedule a free pickup at a convenient time and location. A licensed towing provider removes the vehicle, and we take care of the paperwork needed throughout the process. Most vehicles qualify, including many that no longer run, although acceptance depends on the specific vehicle.

After your vehicle has been sold, we mail the appropriate tax documentation for your records.

Why Does Your Vehicle Donation Matter?

Your donation creates benefits for both you and veterans who need additional support. You can remove an unwanted vehicle without the stress of selling it yourself.

Funds generated through donated vehicles help support programs that provide:

  • Housing assistance
  • Healthcare
  • Financial support
  • Education
  • Employment resources
  • Counseling
  • And other services that help veterans build more stable futures

Depending on your individual tax situation, your donation may also qualify for a tax deduction based on applicable tax rules. Every vehicle donated represents another opportunity to improve the lives of veterans and their families while giving you a convenient way to part with a vehicle you no longer need.

What Types of Vehicles Can You Donate?

Many different vehicles may qualify for donation regardless of age or condition. Even if your vehicle has not been driven recently, it may still be eligible.

Commonly accepted vehicle types include:

  • Trucks and cars: sedans, luxury cars, coupes, hatchbacks, hybrids, wagons, standard pickups, business trucks
  • Vans and SUVs: cargo vans, minivans, buses, compact, midsize, full-size, crossover versions
  • Specialized vehicles: ATVs, trailers, RVs, motorcycles, personal watercraft, snowmobiles, golf carts, riding lawnmowers, boats, noncommercial aircraft

Not every vehicle qualifies, so contact us with a few details before scheduling pickup. If you have misplaced your title, our team can often help explain your options.

What Questions Do Donors Frequently Ask?

How Does Pickup Work?

Free towing is scheduled at a time and place that works best for you. A professional towing company collects your vehicle and provides the necessary paperwork before leaving with it. The process is designed to be simple and convenient.

How Does the Tax Deduction Work?

If your donation qualifies, your potential tax deduction is generally based on the vehicle’s final sale price or fair market value, depending on current tax regulations and your personal tax circumstances.

What If I Don’t Have My Title?

Many title situations can still be resolved. If your title has been lost or is unavailable, contact our team and we will explain the available options and help determine the next steps whenever possible.

How Should You Prepare Before Pickup?

Remove all personal belongings from your automobile before the scheduled pickup. If you have your title or any ownership documents available, gather them in advance.

You do not need to worry about transporting your vehicle because towing is provided at no cost. In many cases, you do not even need to be present if arrangements have been made beforehand. Once your vehicle has been picked up and the required paperwork has been completed, responsibility for the vehicle transfers from you.
