How Does the Car Donation Program Work?
Do you want to donate your car to veterans in San Antonio? The next step is to let us know! Here’s how the car donation process goes:
- You get in touch.Call us or fill out our online donation form to let us know you’re interested in donating, and we’ll set up a time to haul away your donated vehicle.
- We pick up your car.At a mutually agreed-upon time, we come to you and haul away your veterans’ auto donation at no cost. We tow it away, so it doesn’t matter if it’s working or not. We’re happy to take almost anything!
- We use it to generate funding.We then take your car and sell it to generate funds for local veteran programs.
- We mail you a receipt.A few days later, we mail you a receipt. Then, you’re free to cancel insurance and registration, knowing your donation has gone to a worthy cause.
The process is that simple. Just let us know you want to donate, and we’ll take care of the rest.
What Vehicles Do You Accept for Donation?
Even if your car is old or rundown, it doesn’t matter; you can brighten someone’s future with your donation.
We’ll take almost any kind of vehicle, including cars, trucks, vans, minivans, SUVs, hybrids, convertibles, buses, motorhomes, commercial vans, boats, riding lawn mowers, golf carts, and more! From Ford and Chevy to Toyota and beyond, we welcome nearly every make and model.

Can I Donate a Vehicle That Doesn’t Run?
Your vehicle doesn’t have to be in running condition to be donated through our program. Even if it hasn’t been running for several years, you can still donate it.
How Do I Schedule a Pickup for My Vehicle?
To schedule a pickup, call our vehicle donation specialists at 877-594-5822. They’ll work with you to schedule a convenient pickup date and time.
Do I Have to Be Home for Vehicle Pickup?
You don’t have to be at home for your vehicle pickup. In fact, many donors choose to be away during their pickup window. We handle these types of pickups on a regular basis.
Will You Tow My Vehicle for Free?
Yes, through Veteran Care Donations, towing is always free. You pay nothing.
Do I Need to Notify the DMV When I Donate My Vehicle?
The rules for donated vehicles vary by state. In some cases, you may need to notify the DMV of your donation. To learn about your state’s requirements, call our Title Department at 877-594-5822. We’re standing by to make sure you understand everything.
