What Happens to My Motorcycle After I Donate It?
Once your motorcycle is picked up, it’s transported to an auction for sale. After it’s sold, you’ll get a receipt confirming the sale, which you can use for tax purposes.
If your bike sells for less than $500, the letter will state that you’re eligible to claim a tax deduction of the fair market value, up to $500, without needing additional paperwork. If the motorcycle sells for more than $500, the letter will indicate the exact sale price, which you can use when filing your taxes.
Do I Need to Be Present When My Motorcycle Is Picked Up?
No, you don’t have to be there during pickup. You’re busy, and we know that many of our donors either have scheduling conflicts or simply prefer not to be present. No problem, our team handles these pickups regularly.
How Long Does It Take to Pick Up My Motorcycle?
Your donation will be picked up within 24 to 48 hours. A local towing company will contact you directly to set up a date and time that works for you. If you need your donation picked up sooner, let us know. We can often accommodate urgent requests.
